Description
The resort-to-research is a new operational and funding model to conduct high-end research in remote locations, whereby a commercial entity (Kisawa Sanctuary) co-funds and supports professional scientific research (BCSS). In this case, the model supports the first permanent Ocean Observatory multi-ecosystem time-series in Africa.

Description
The Bazaruto Center for Scientific Studies (BCSS) is a research station and ocean observatory providing open-access multi-ecosystem time-series datasets for the Mozambique Channel (EEZ) and the Bazaruto Archipelago. It has in-house accommodation, laboratories, vehicles, boats. BCSS hosts research training programs, a PADI 5* Dive Center, professional logistics in ocean/land and scientific laboratories.
