About the Earthshot Prize

The Earthshot Prize was launched in 2020 by Prince William and The Royal Foundation with the mission to discover, accelerate, and scale the world’s most impactful solutions to address environmental challenges. Often referred to as the “Nobel Prize for the Environment,” the initiative awards five winners annually, each receiving £1 million to further their work. The awards are based on five critical goals, or “Earthshots,” aimed at repairing the planet by 2030:

  1. Protect and Restore Nature

  2. Clean Our Air

  3. Revive Our Oceans

  4. Build a Waste-Free World

  5. Fix Our Climate
