Gain your PADI certification in a marine biodiversity hotspot

Join the unique opportunity to dive into the world of marine science while gaining your PADI certification. Together with our instructors, dive unique locations exclusive to BCSS and join exploratory expeditions in the BANP and beyond, learning about marine life ecology from our in-house scientists.

The DSD course is perfect for those who have never scuba dived before but are curious and want to give it a try. This 1 to 2-day program provides you with basic theory, above and underwater skills and underwater mentoring so you will feel comfortable while diving.

2 dives – 1-2 days – USD210

The Open Water Course is for individuals who want to learn how to scuba dive and are committed to several days of studying and training. Explore a new world and learn diving physics and theory, how to use scuba equipment and how to control your breathing and buoyancy. Your Open Water Diver certification allows you to dive anywhere up to 18 meters.  

4-5 days– 2 open water dives – >4 in-pool sessions – USD650

Join the Advanced Open Water course to develop from your Open Water certification further and gain more extensive diving experience. During 5 dives, you have the opportunity, amongst other, to dive until 30 meters, improve your buoyancy control, learn to drift dive and join a night dive. 

2-4 days days– 5 dives – USD715

Learn what to do and how to react in the rare case of a dive-related emergency. During this course, you will learn how to take care of an unconscious diver both above and underwater, how to react when a diver is panicking and how to provide first aid, including CPR, and more. We highly recommend taking this course to anyone who dives frequently, as you will gain important skills helping others and become a more confident diver.

2-4 days– 3+ dives – USD720

Become a professional PADI Dive Master in a world-class diving location, alongside experienced dive instructors and guides, while staying at the first permanent Ocean Observatory in Africa.

Assist the Dive Manager of BCSS with everyday tasks while improving your diving skills and gaining in-depth knowledge of safety measures and dive theory. Whether you are a new diver or already possess certifications, you’ll step off Benguerra Island feeling confident to guide groups and conduct research underwater.

3 months – USD6.800
