SCIENTIFIC DIVING CENTRE
Serving scientific research through consulting, logistics and training
The scientific dive center supports technical and scientific diving with the aim to support researchers conducting field projects, carrying out surveys, filming documentaries or location scouting. Our team is able to train new research divers, assist in planning and leading scientific expeditions. Support is also available for media crews, e.g. documentaries or photographers. All visitors wishing to dive at BCSS need to provide existing diving qualifications and paperwork. The pristine and well conserved reefs of the Bazaruto Archipelago offer some of the best environments in the world for observing a diverse variety of fauna.

RESEARCH FIELDWORK LOGISTICS
Conduct fieldwork efficiently with on site labs and facilities
The BCSS field marine station and laboratory represents a unique zero-waste field station model, run entirely on solar energy. Scientists are welcome to visit BCSS to conduct their research while using the facilities and the fully equipped laboratory. BCSS recommends scientists to bring their own equipment, where possible. Please note that a permit is required from the parks to conduct any research activity. This process can take up to three months.

MEDIA SUPPORT & SCIENTIFIC CONSULTANCY
Focus on your media projects with professional logistics and scientific consult
As a scientific marine field station in the heart of Bazaruto Archipelago National Park, BCSS has a solid background in scientific organisation and documentary filming logistics – making sure all logistics are in place so you can work on your media project without a worry. Our logistical support runs from local guides and scientific knowledge to location scouting and a know-how on how to work with animals. BCSS has helped with produced work for National Geographic, the BBC, Netflix, TVE and Mozambican National TV, among others.
