The Bazaruto Center for Scientific Studies (BCSS) is located amidst exceptional scenery facing both the Indian Ocean with direct views onto Bazaruto Island, its unique dunes and green & blue waters and a quiet bay often populated with flamingos and general bird life.

The Bazaruto Center for Scientific Studies (BCSS) is blessed with the exceptional scenery of the Indian Ocean and the Bazaruto Island itself, with rolling dunes, blue-green waters and a quiet bay often populated with flamingos and general bird life. BCSS offers catering and services for a maximum of 3-5 days, including accommodation for visiting events, conferences, courses and workshops.

The facility includes a large conference room with screen and projector and can seat up to 40 visitors. There are also shaded exterior facilities that may serve for work or leisure during events. A pavilion located near the main complex provides a more intimate, private setting. Direct access to services, catering, and staff is available throughout BCSS with a maximum of 20 visitors sleeping across single, double room and tented accommodation.

The island of Benguerra offers fishing, diving, snorkeling and sailing, with seasonal whale watching and island hopping being particularly popular activities.

Mozambican nationals (not speaking English) must come with a tutor for English to Portuguese translation on selected programs.
